Specifically, for cello, MELOS offers a "sticky" Rosin product on musicians' demand. This rosin is softer and "bites" the strings stronger than the MELOS "dark" Rosin. Mixing different types of rosins can produce powerful effects, as a violin player can mix a MELOS "light" or "dark" rosin with a MELOS "light" or "dark" viola rosin. By adjusting the hardness or softness of the cake, musicians can achieve the exact sound they desire - a warm, full, high-quality tone.
MELOS ROSIN is optimized for bass bows and is particularly suitable for use during colder months, as the softer rosin provides more grip on the strings. The product is made from Greek pine-tree colophony, and can be mixed with a light rosin for perfect playability.
